High school has been a bittersweet time so far. For the most part, it is confusing and fast. At times, I felt as if I was alone in a world full of chaos. Freshman year has been a hard year to put into words but I'm going to try to.
1.) No One Is Trustworthy(not even yourself.)
Let's be honest, you have probably talked bad about your friends and they have done the same. It's the sad truth, our human nature is to be for ourselves.

2.) The Druggies and Class Clowns Are Not Who You Want To Be.
High school is one on the most important part of your life. How you handle yourself in high school and college effect you future massively. To be associated with people who have no desire to help their future will damage yours. Hanging out with druggies, class clowns, extreme partiers, and juvenile delinquents tells the world that you are one of them and if you aren't you inevitably will begin to.
3.) Careful Who You Are Friends With.
Along with number two, you need to learn in high school that being popular is not everything. Once you graduate, your high school memories will find its way into the back of your mind and rarely ever occur to you. Unless, you are one of those High-School-Was-My-Glory-Years-And-I-Will-Continue-To-Dwell-On-Them kinds of people, if so I feel pity for you. All you need is one good friend in life, having many friends is just too burdensome.
4.) Grades Matter!
I did not realize this until I saw what kind of grades my dream college accepts. Every year of high school counts for your GPA.
5.) Join Clubs and Sports.
Colleges love a well rounded student. Even if you dislike group activities try to make an effort to join some, you never know what friends you will meet.
6.) Don't Be a Push Over
High school is the time to find yourself, not hide in the shadows. If someone is harassing you, stand up for yourself. You need to start being independent and strong.
7.) Drugs and Sex Are Apparently the Norm.
Drugs have been a big phenomenon I've time. As more drugs are introduced, the more drugs are romanticized. Just because drugs and sex are extremely popular in society, doesn't mean you should try them if you are comfortable doing it. Sex as a teen is extremely dangerous along with drugs.
8.) Find Your Passion, Not Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend.
High school is an exciting time to find what you aspire to do. The more time you spend looking for a relationship, the more you distract from looking for your passion.
These are all the notes I have so far, I may do a part two. Feel free to message me if you need any advice about high school.
