Being a book blogger is a wonderful experience! However, it has it’s hard parts. As a book blogger, I have learned various traits; responsibility and creativity skills are what I have gained most from blogging. Having a blog is a great opportunity to expand your writing skills and career. Here are a few tips for upcoming book bloggers:
POST FREQUENTLY
In order to expand your viewers you must post frequently! Posting frequently helps you achieve regular viewers! Regular viewers are viewers who visit your site a lot. I post every day to help achieve regular viewers. If you do not have time to post daily then post on certain days and stick to them.
USE SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is a crucial aspect of blogging. Social media helps you connect with viewers and promote your blog. I tend to use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for blogging purposes. You do not need to use every social media site but pick a couple that you are comfortable with.
USE PROPER GRAMMAR
Yes, I do have my off days when I don't proofread properly, but that is a rare occasion. Whether you're blogging for fun or business proper grammar is key! No one likes reading a post that seems like you put zero effort into it. Before you submit your post, remember to ask yourself if you would submit this to a teacher for a grade. If not, then you shouldn't post it on your blog yet.
CREATIVITY IS A MUST
Readers enjoy blogs that are different! That does not mean that you can't write reviews and other common stuff. Try to do something that makes your blog stand out.
ATTEND BOOK/BLOG EVENTS
This will help authors and publishers become familiar with you. Events like Bookcon also allow you to connect with other bloggers!
YOU HAVE TO REACH OUT TO AUTHORS
In the beginning, authors will not find you easily. With this in mind, try to reach out to them. Reaching out to publishers and authors helps you when broadening your writing connections. You have greater chance getting promoting deals later on if you reach out to authors or publishers prior.
HAVE FUN
Blogging can be hard but the overall experience is incredible. In the almost four months I have been a blogger, I have already met so many of you! I also have created many connections with authors. It is a amazing thing to be a blogger and is worth the hard work!
