I was not entirely blown away by this book.
I do agree with the majority of the readers who say this book was hilarious. With Grey's awkwardness and wimpiness, you will laugh at almost every event that occurs. It adds humor to a sad story, which shows the fact that even in times of distress there is even a glimmer of humor.
Although I loved a vast part of the book, certain things in the novel made me feel uneasy about it. Particularly characteristics of Greg and Earl had annoyed me immensely. The fact that for a majority of the book Greg pitied himself for being forced to hangout with Rachel. Earl's constant annoyance of the world made it hard to enjoy his character. Also, the extremely casual writing style, at various parts of the story, felt a little too conversational.
Overall, I enjoyed this heartwarming tale! I would give it 4/5 stars. I recommend to fans of The Fault in our Stars by John Green or any other books about illnesses who enjoy comedies.
