Hi everyone!
I finally decided to do this! I have been wanting to post about this topic for so long, but it never felt right to post it. I had just recently reached 2000 viewers on my blog. This is an amazing achievement for me! I cannot believe what all of my hard work and dedication lead to! Thank you all so much!
The number one thing you must know if you want to be a blogger is that it is extremely hard. Blogging has become a massive part of my life. When I'm not writing for my blog, i'm usually doing stuff to help my blog or reading. I post on my blog once a day. Once I get home from school I have to write my blog post for the day and then read for my next review. I spend a great amount of time looking for ways to promote my blog, this includes constantly tweeting and instagramming. It is time consuming!
Another major thing to think about is the challenges you will face as a blogger. My dad told me the number one way to be successful is to focus your life on only one thing. I am in the process on choosing what to focus my life on, acting or writing? Sacrificing for your blog is hard and at times discouraging but in life we all have to make sacrifices.
Next, is that is money consuming! To get my blog to look more professional, I have to completely buy out the website (this is still a working progress.). Not to mention that you need business cards and a logo which are extremely expensive. To promote my blog I have to attend book events which are hard to go to and costs money as well. This all is because, Like a baby, my blog needs to be raised. This causes me to have to spend money and time on it. I am currently saving money for a few books events I'm attending in 2016. Overall having this blog is exhausting.
Even though it is extremely exhausting, I freaking love it. I love how I got to create something amazing all by myself. I love how this blog has changed me to be more determined and responsible. I love the great amount of perks I receive. But the greatest joy I receive is how I got to experience this all with you. I have met so many bloggers, authors, publishers, and many other people working in the writing industry because of my blog! I have so many more book and author friends who help me with my blog! It is honestly incredible! The way my blog is could not have been possible without you all. I currently am working with so many talented people and I could not have done this without the support of others! In the end the good things about my blog outshine the bad!
Thank you all so much!
With love,
Marissa Nicole
