I remember one day my grand mom had said to me when she saw me reading a novel that there a two different types of writers, the kind who write to express a beautiful story, and the kind who write for money. The ones who write because they have a beautiful story to tell, don't care how much money they make as long as it affects the readers. The ones who only write for money, write what every is popular to achieve greatness. My grand mom told me that the way to recognize what the writer's intentions are is by how you feel afterward. If a writer only wants an income, they will only write what they need in order to get paid. This usually means they only write about what is trending at the time. Meanwhile, an actual talented author will write to express a story that is beautiful and unique. The great authors are the ones who make you feel things while reading their book.
Today, more people write books mostly for income, making it difficult to find a novel worth praising. They tell generic stories or story's reusing other authors' novels-THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO FAN-FICTION, I AM AWARE THAT FAN-FICTION IS LITERATURE. These writers are clever, and know what people will pay to read. It is sickening and a disgrace to the writing industry. This is not the intention an author should have!
There are people blessed with the gift of creativity and storytelling. These people have the ability to give their stories life and emotion. They can make fans laugh, cry, and fangirl. They can save lives. People do not realize the impact novels have on readers. Being able to escape reality is the greatest form of therapy. There is a book each book-lover possesses that is their safe haven. Their home. When everything is spiraling downwards and there is no where left to go, that book is there. We love that book. It reminds us of who we are. Every author should strive to be the writer of a book like that. They should want to be someone's hero. Be the reason someone is who they are today. If that is not your intention as a writer, to inspire your readers, then you don't deserve money or a novel. You don't deserve to be associated with the writing industry, because writing is not about money, but expressing something magical.
